Defending champion Sacred Heart’s boys scored two goals in overtime to outlast St. Andrew’s for the Class 1A-2A-3A state championship Saturday afternoon in a rematch of last year’s state title game at Ridgeland High. Sacred Heart defeated St. Andrew’s 1-0 on penalty kicks in last year’s state title game. Heath Hogan scored a goal three minutes into overtime for Sacred Heart and Sacred Heart scored another goal for a 3-1 lead before St. Andrew’s’ Tanner Hendrix scored in the final minute of the second overtime period to close the gap to 3-2. Ashton Ware gave Sacred Heart a 1-0 lead in the first half then St. Andrew’s senior Caleb Young scored in the second half for a 1-1 tie.
