Raymond senior guard Zykeria Anderson missed seven games with a knee injury earlier this season, but is back playing again.

The 5-foot-4 Anderson showed she was back last week as she averaged 19.5 points in two Class 4A, Region 6 games.

For her outstanding performances, Anderson has been named the Performance Therapy/Mississippi Scoreboard Girls Basketball Player of the Week.

Anderson scored a season-high 29 points, making six 3-pointers, with 5 steals, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in a 65-60 victory over North Pike. She scored 10 points with 3 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 assist in a 43-42 loss to McComb.

Anderson is averaging 19 points, 3.5 steals, 3 rebounds and 3 assists this season for 10-5 Raymond going into this week. Mississippi Valley, Mississippi College, Arkansas Baptist, Copiah-Lincoln Community College, Hinds CC and Jones CC have shown the most interest. 

“Zykeria’s ball iQ is amazing,” Raymond coach Candace Roberts said. “She finds a way to get everybody involved.”

Anderson averaged 23 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.9 steals and led Raymond to a 18-12 record and the Class 4A state semifinals last season as a junior. She made the Priority One Bank/Mississippi Scoreboard All-Metro Jackson second team. Anderson scored a career-high 35 points with 5 assists and 3 steals against Greene County in the second round of the 4A playoffs last season.
