       PROVINE 44, MADISON CENTRAL 39:

       The MHSAA Class 5A Rams scored the game’s final six points in the last 40 seconds to defeat the MHSAA Class 6A Jaguars.

       Provine improved to 17-5. Madison Central dropped to 10-12.

       Ja’Vian Watkins made two free throw attempts with 40.6 seconds to play to give Provine a 40-39 lead. Then Provine’s Jamaal Henderson made a rebound basket with 26.9 seconds to play and Provine’s Tye Gholar made two free throw attempts with 5.7 seconds to play.

       Gholar led Provine with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Jakobi Thompson had 10 points.

       Isaiah Spencer, a Jackson State football commitment, led Madison Central with 15 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists.

BRANDON 53, CALLAWAY 45:

       Sophomore guard Braylon Barnes, son of Brandon coach Fred Barnes, and senior forward Marcel Bridges – a member of the PriorityOne Bank/Mississippi Scoreboard Metro Jackson Preseason Elite 11 Team – scored 15 points each to lead the MHSAA Class 6A Bulldogs over the MHSAA Class 5A Chargers.

       Brandon improved to 15-6. Callaway dropped to 9-12.

       Senior forward Trevon Taylor had 17 points and sophomore guard Javarian Mallard – another member of the Preseason Elite 11 Team – had 12 points and 7 assists for Callaway.

       JACKSON ACADEMY 56, FOREST HILL 48:

       The MAIS Class 6A Raiders shot 55.0 percent from the field and 54.8 percent from 3-point range in their win over the MHSAA Class 6A Patriots.

       JA improved to 16-5. Forest Hill dropped to 4-11.

       Senior guard Josh Holman had team-highs of 24 points and nine rebounds to lead JA. Senior guards Sam Gaylor and Kam Beverly had nine points each.

       Christian Rhodes led Forest Hill with 31 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals.

       RIDGELAND 64, HARTFIELD ACADEMY 51:

       Senior guards Amare Holmes, Montravious Skinner and Zakarie McDonald combined for 60 points to lead the MHSAA Class 5A Titans past the MAIS Class 6A Hawks.

Holmes had 15 points, Skinner had 14 points and McDonald had 11 points.

Ridgeland improved to 13-8. Hartfield dropped to 17-3.

       Senior guard Silas Clark had a team-high 17 points to lead Hartfield.

       Ridgeland led 11-8 after one quarter, 28-21 at halftime and 49-29 after three quarters.

       TERRY 42, CANTON 38:

       MHSAA Class 6A Yellowjackets scored 20 points in the fourth quarter for a comeback win over the MHSAA Class 5A Tigers.

       Terry improved to 16-6. Canton dropped to 13-5.

       Senior guard Trey Smith had 16 points, junior forward Avery Thomas Jr. had 11 points and senior guard Malik Daniels had 9 rebounds for Terry.

       Sophomore forward Jamarion Fleming had 10 points and 9 rebounds and senior forward De’Anthony Lewis and junior guard De’Andre Lewis had 8 rebounds each for Canton.

       YAZOO CITY 44, NORTHWEST RANKIN 42:

       The MHSAA Class 4A Indians defeated the MHSAA Class 6A Cougars with a come-from-behind win.

       Yazoo City improved to 18-5. Northwest Rankin dropped to 15-7.

       Senior guard William Grayson had 12 points and 4 steals, junior guard Damarion Winston had 11 points and 5 assists and junior guard Tamarion Hoover had 10 points and 11 rebounds for Yazoo City.

       Senior guard Levionne Lindsay – a member of the Preseason Elite 11 Team – had 12 points and 7 rebounds, senior guard Brendan Brown had 9 points and 3 steals, junior forward Kemauri Oscar had 9 points and 8 rebounds and senior guard Davion James had 8 points and 5 steals for Northwest Rankin.

       STARKVILLE 70, OLIVE BRANCH 55:

       Wichita State signee Makhi Myles had 23 points and 8 rebounds, Connor Rogers had 18 points and Jonathan Baker had 11 points to lead the Yellowjackets over the Conquistadors in a battle between MHSAA Class 6A teams.

       Starkville improved to 17-4. Olive Branch dropped to 17-3.

       Jaylyn Taylor had 13 points to lead Olive Branch.
