​Senior Cailey Walker and sophomore Harlee Grace Sensing scored 17 points each to lead the Hartfield Academy girls to a 61-45 MAIS Class 5A, District 3 victory Friday night over Simpson at Hartfield. 
​Defending Class 4A state champion Hartfield improved to 19-7 overall and 9-0 in district play. Simpson dropped to 16-8 and 5-4. Hartfield edged Simpson 47-46 for the 4A state title last season and has now beaten Simpson six of the last seven meetings.

​Walker and Sensing combined for 22 points in the first half to carry Hartfield to a 31-23 halftime lead. 

​Walker also had nine rebounds in the game. Sensing made five 3-pointers, four in the first half. Junior Ann Maris Ragan had 10 rebounds and three blocked shots. Hartfield had 13 steals, six girls had two each and one with one, and six blocked shots, Ragan and junior Avery Rushing had three each. 

​Sophomore Ma’Nia Womack led Simpson with 21 points. Sophomores Carson Carter and Olivia Banes had 11 points each.
