Myeisha Scott fittingly wears No. 23 for the Provine Lady Rams. And like the most famous No. 23 – Michael Jordan – she does most everything for her team.

Scott, a 6-foot-1 senior, averaged 21 points, 12 rebounds and 1.5 blocked shots in two games last week for Provine.

For her outstanding performance, Scott has been named the Performance Therapy/Mississippi Scoreboard Metro Jackson Girls Basketball Player of the Week.

Scott had 26 points, 13 rebounds and 3 blocked shots in a 51-39 loss to Ridgeland and 16 points and 11 rebounds in a 56-54 overtime loss to Callaway. Scott’s career high is 31 points against Murrah earlier this season.

Scott, an East Central Community College signee, averages 22 points, 15 rebounds and 5 blocked shots for 4-8 Provine, which starts three sophomores and a junior along with Scott.

“Myeisha is definitely the motor of our team,” Provinecoach Erica Stringfellow Smith said. “She has led the team in scoring, rebounds, blocked shots and deflections. Myeisha is a natural rebounder and very versatile on the floor. She attracts two to three defenders every time she touches the ball.”

Scott averaged 14 points, 10.4 rebounds, 2.8 steals and 1.7 blocked shots for 17-9 Provine last season as a junior. She was named to the second team on the Priority One Bank/Mississippi Scoreboard All Metro Jackson team.
